SAT and ACT Prep and College Consultingin Glenview, IllinoisTaught by an Engineer

Small-group SAT and ACT preparation and founder-led college consulting for Glenview families, for students in grades 9 through 11, live online. Students at Glenbrook South High School work directly with a UC Berkeley engineer who spent eight years building software at companies that include Amazon and Ring, and who has placed 80+ students at top-20 universities.

Glenview students attend the larger of the two Glenbrook schools, and the practical consequence is range: enough course and activity options that a student can finish four years with a full transcript that does not argue anything in particular.

What Glenview families can work with us on

Two things, taught by one person, with the AI literacy inside both rather than sold as a separate course. An AI agent is an AI helper with one job and written rules: your student writes the rules, the agent works through the job step by step, and a person checks the result. It does not know your child and does not remember last week; the written rules and your student’s own notes carry that, and they belong to your family.

  • SAT and ACT preparation

    Direct instruction

Small-group preparation for the Digital SAT and the current ACT, built backward from a specific official test date; 1:1 sessions where the group does not fit.

Content instruction in math and verbal, full-length official-format practice tests with per-question review, a test-day plan, and the study system the student keeps for retakes. No score guarantee — variability between students is large and anyone promising a number is guessing.

    Study-method coaching

The layer that runs through everything above: how to direct AI tools honestly, check their output, and keep a record of your own thinking.

Students build an error log, write the instruction that turns it into practice, and run the verification step that catches a wrong answer. The files belong to the student and travel with them. No model knows or remembers your child — the student re-supplies their own record each time, which is exactly why it keeps working across courses and years. This is study-method coaching woven into the subject work, not a separate class.

What is actually true in Glenview

Glenview is served by Glenbrook South High School, part of Northfield Township High School District 225 alongside Glenbrook North in Northbrook. It is the larger of the district's two schools.

Range is genuinely valuable — and its failure mode is accumulation: four years of individually sensible choices that add up to a transcript with no through-line. Admissions readers are not counting items; they look for the claim an application makes, then check whether the evidence supports it.

So the work in Glenview is usually subtraction rather than addition: deciding what not to do, so what remains means something. It applies to courses as much as activities — the same discipline that makes a study plan work, aiming hours rather than adding them.

At a school with this much on offer, the hard part is choosing less

Nobody inside a household is well placed to tell a hardworking sixteen-year-old to drop something they are good at, and a counselor serving a whole cohort cannot hold that conversation weekly. That is what an outside voice is for. We write the reasoning down and expect families to argue with it.

What "AI-centered" actually means here

Watch the study system work — mistake, instruction, check.

This is the loop your student runs in every subject. The part most programs hide — the instruction — is the part we teach.

## Reading & Writing — Oct 3

- Q14: comma splice vs. period+capital.

Picked B. Right answer D.

Why: I treat "however" like "and."

2 · The student writes the instruction

Written by the student — readable by you

Using my error log, quiz me on comma splices and "however" sentences. One at a time — don’t show the answer until I commit, then make me explain WHY in one line.

3 · The student checks the tool
Q: "She studied all night, however she still felt unprepared." Correct as written?
No — comma splice. Needs a semicolon before "however."
Correct! A comma is also acceptable here.
✗ Student check: it is not — the official guide agrees: semicolon or period. Logged.
A scripted demonstration with sample data — no student information, and no model that knows or remembers anyone. What persists is the student’s own file.

How sessions run for Glenview families

Classes run live online today. In-person small-group cohorts are planned for Glenview, IL, serving the North Shore and southern Lake County — we will publish the location and dates once the room is under contract, and not before.

Glenview is where we are working to open that room, because it is central to the communities we serve. We will publish the address and dates when the space is under contract — not before, and we will not take a deposit against a plan.

Korean-language support for Glenview families

Consultations, written plans and parent progress updates are available in Korean or English. Many families here use both — one parent more comfortable in each language — and we work with both rather than routing everything through the student. Student sessions run in English, since that is the language of the exams and the application.

How AI is used here — and where the line is

Students build a study system they own and can read: a log of their own mistakes, the instructions they wrote for how they want to be helped, and a checklist for verifying an answer before trusting it. The system is a set of files the student keeps. It does not know your child and it does not remember them between sessions — what persists is what the student wrote down, which is exactly why it still works a year later and in a different course.

The limit belongs beside the benefit: a model can be confident and wrong, which is why verification is taught as part of the method rather than mentioned at the end of it.

Any AI tool

Starts from zero, every session. It does not know your child and it does not remember them — the student’s files are the continuity, which is why the system survives a tool change, a school year, and graduation.
